Class Description: 
This is a beginning class where you will learn to make a chevron bracelet, which is a graceful bracelet that uses two rows of beads that apear as a single row in a chevron pattern, on a leather cord with a metal button for a clasp. Choose from an assortment of bead kits (in class) to make your own creation.

Instructor provided Components:

  • Class Kit (Beads, jump rings, leather, button clasp)

Students should bring:

  • Bead mat
  • Scissors/Cutter
  • Ruler
  • Light/Magnifier
  • Anything else you would like to have to be comfortable when you bead, such as magnifiers, beading light, needlework supplies/tools, etc.

Maximum BSNM and non-BSNM Students: 15 (waitlist will be available)

Mary Neel: Mary Neel is a self-taught artist who looks to nature to be inspired and has learned techniques through classes, experimentation and observing other artisans.  Her projects combine a variety of mediums using pencil, paint, clay and beads as well as recycled items.  During her career in the nursery and landscape industry and through her love of gardening she has learned to appreciate how nature shows us beauty in its use of light, color, contrast, structure and textture as well as seasons and cycles.

Laura Bosch: Laura was born in Washington DC and lived most of her life in Silver Spring Maryland. She & her husband, Jonathan, moved here in 2023. She joined the Bead Society of NM even before moving here! Laura is our Facebook board member.

Majoring in crafts at the Univ of Maryland in the early 1970’s, her main focus was fabric arts like macramé and loom weaving. She started beading again in the 1990s, mainly seed beading amulet bags, earrings, bracelets. Now she does all kinds of beading. After working for a wholesale jewelry business in Maryland for 10 years, in 2002 she left to start her business Multibeadia. Selling first on eBay and now selling on Etsy, her store has a large  variety of stone beads, large hole beads, findings, tools, Czech glass beads, 2-hole beads & her own jewelry designs.
