    June Malone's Pastel Bordeaux Necklace

    June Malone is an artist who has worked with a variety of materials and media. For the past 30 years she has worked with fiber, acrylics, cake frosting, counted cross stitch, needlepoint, and most recently, beads. June began working seriously with beads in 1999 when she needed some jewelry to go with a new outfit. She discovered Delica beads and now creates her own designs for elaborate 1-of-a-kind necklaces and earrings. She also develops kits full time so we can all enjoy her creations..     Class fee will provide:

    All materials to make the Bordeaux necklace except for thread and needles


    You need to provide: 

    Needles - size 10

    Thread - 6# Fireline recommended

    Bead mat

    other items beader uses to bead

    needle nose and flat nose pliers

    Adele Frances's Silk Cocoon Pod Necklace

    Workshop Fee: $40 paid to the instructor

    Learn to work with silk cocoon pods to make a beautiful and very unique necklace. You will learn design techniques, enhancement techniques with pens, and construction techniques.

    Kit includes:

    22 cocoons, necklace cord, variety of 6/0 beads, waxed string, hand made paper, patterns to make leaf 


    Students to bring to class: 

    small hole punch, scissors, any additional beads or papers you want to include in design


    Adele's Bio:

    Adele Frances is a retired career counselor and life coach whose current mantra is “Why work when you can create?”    She has been involved with the Albuquerque art scene for the past twelve years, selling her mixed media and fiber creations in galleries around the city and state.  Now she is concentrating on her new duties as docent at the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History where she leads tours for school children.  A true Gemini, Adele flits from passion to passion, thus discovering the potential of silk cocoons as jewelry components last year.  She is happy to pass on what she has learned and hopes you will enjoy this upcoming workshop and expand your own skills.

    Bead Embroidery, presented by Leah Ready

    August 7, 2019 from 4-7pm

    Workshop Fee: $50 paid to the instructor

    (includes the kit)

    Learn to make a beautiful 2” x 2” pin using bead embroidery techniques. Each one will be a unique design and the skills you learn can be used in a lot of different projects.

    Kit includes:

    flower and leaf pieces

    animal charm

    felt and ultra suede

    pin back

    Students need to bring:

    small tube E6000 glue

    needles #12 and #10 sharps (NOT beading needles)

    thread (SoNo, OneG, Nymo D, Fireline#6)

    sharp scissors

    size 15 in gold or silver, size 11/0 in several blues and several greens

    This is a good way to use up leftover beads!


    Leah Ready Bio:

    I have played with beads all my life. The colors and textures and the use of stitches to bind all fulfill my creative needs.
