Polymer Clay Chile Bead Class
Aug 16, 2025

Class Description:
What is more “New Mexican” than red and green chilies? Made with polymer clay, Pam will show you how to make a ristra’s worth of mini red chilies for your creative muse.
IMPORTANT: If you are learning to make these for resale as earrings or other jewelry, you will not be able to sell them at events where Pam is also a vendor. The first hour is making chiles. Baking takes 20 minutes per batch during class time. We will make at least one pair of earrings to wear out of class. Additional jewelry making is on your own.
Students need to bring their own supplies:
1. Polymer clay in red and green, one block each. Please buy Sculpey or Fimo brands (no off-name brands.)
2. Piece of 12x12 inch SMOOTH tile or hard surface for cutting and bead making
3. Tissue blade for cutting polymer clay
4. Earring wires, open rings, chandelier findings, beading tools. The instructor will bring a polymer clay oven. A toaster oven dedicated to polymer clay can also be used if you’d like to bring your own. No pasta machine is needed as we will be hand rolling the clay.
