August 19^th General Meeting Agenda

• Gourd Society of New Mexico Presentation. They will discuss information about their organization as well as present some beautiful pieces.
• Operation Christmas Child - Members are encouraged to bring handmade jewelry (or other appropriate items) for Operation Christmas Child. Sharon Cook will discuss a little about the organization. Bring your jewelry making tools and findings to make items during the meeting. BSNM will also bring beads. For more information about this worthy organization, see Operation Christmas Child | Shoebox Outreach of Samaritan’s Purse.
• The Mystery Bead Challenge kick off. Members can pick up instructions and a kit! Participants will design an item using kit materials and perhaps a few of their own components to make a unique piece. Bring your final pieces to our November meeting.

Other News!

New Mexico State Fair Intake is Friday, August 22 9am-5pm and Saturday, August 23, 9am-4pm - bring your items (or your friends or family) to enter the State Fair Competition!  The guidelines and address are listed in the document below.  For Intake this year we are asked to enter through the front door (facing the Manuel Lujan building).

Thanks to past BSNM President Geri Verble, BSNM has been asked to participate in a group artist display with the Placitas Art Series! A BSNM exhibit is planned at Placitas Presbyterian Church from the end of January 2026 through early March 2026. Our work will be displayed and for sale during concerts and other events. See the PAS website https://placitasartistsseries.org/the-artists.html for information. Start thinking about pieces you may want to display. Details and requirements for setting up displays and sales information will be distributed in September 2025.

BSNM Board is collaborating with Big Frog Custom T-Shirts of Albuquerque to provide members with a way to order custom BSNM shirts and bags -- you can view shirts and options at https://beads.itemorder.com/shop/home/ or you can visit the Big Frog Shop in person to check shirts and try them on in person (without the logo) at 6001 San Mateo Blvd NE, Suite D-2, Albuquerque, NM (same shopping area as Amy's Donuts).
